For CommScope Partners, a photo ID badge will be provided for relevant training courses via the Infrastructure Academy App and also the badge page of the training center on your account.
If you are a member of a CommScope Partner company, for those courses that are eligible to be added to one of the CommScope ID badge schemes, a student is able to request a badge once a course is completed and this will be available from the Infrastructure Academy App.
Once you have completed your course, log into the Infrastructure Academy app, go to the Courses and Badges tab and request your badge by uploading a photo of yourself. After a short time while we check your photo, your badge will be available to view and display directly from the app.
The App is available on Apple and Android devices.
Certification is provided for all successfully completed courses. Self print certificates are issued for SYSTIMAX, Uniprise, Wireless and Broadband courses.
For CommScope Partners, a photo ID badge will be provided for relevant training courses which will be visible from the badge page of the 'My Training' and via the Infrastructure Academy App.
When your certificate has or is due to expire you can recertify by completing a recertification/refresher course.
I&M (3361) – recertified by SP3361R, SP3351, ND3361 or FC3361
D&E (3321) – recertified by SP3351 or SP3321
GL5555 – recertified by GL5555R
SPUCI – recertified by SPUCIR
All other courses are refreshed by retaking the same course as they do not have separate recertification courses (they are updated regularly with new content)
If you take your recertification course before your original has expired, your new certificate will be dated from the completion date of the recertification course.
A self-print facility has been introduced for all course certificates. Once you have passed your course and a certificate has been generated*, you can click 'certificates' on the menu on the left under the ‘My Training’ area. Here you will see an option to ‘Print Certificate’ with your course details.
You can add a photo to your account via 'Personal Details' under the 'my account' menu option.
Here you will need to click on the 'change photo' option
Once you have selected the photo you wish to upload you will then need to scoll to the bottom of the page and select the 'update' button for your photo to then appear on your account.
Introduction
So that a user’s photograph can be included on a badge, it is required that users provide a photograph of themselves which is uploaded and stored with their training details.
The photograph provided must be a clear image, including the user’s face with a blank background. In order that the photograph fits on a badge, the photograph should be optimized so that it is the correct size and the file size is reduced so that it is quickly uploaded to the CommScope Infrastructure Academy’s website.
There are many methods and applications available to allow you to optimize images.
Optimizing your Image
To perform the optimization of user photographs, we recommend using a free online tool called Web Resizer, a completely free to use tool.
1. Firstly we need to navigate to the site:
http://www.webresizer.com/resizer/
2. Click on the Browse button.
3. In the dialog window that opens, navigate to the photograph you have taken, select it and click Open.
4. Click the Upload button.
5. At this point your image is uploaded to the website which may take some time, so please be patient and wait for your image to appear on page.
6. The photograph is automatically optimized, so a lot of the hard work is already done for us, however, it may be beneficial to crop the image so that it is a better size for printing onto badges.
Cropping your Photo
1. Click the crop Image button
2. In the two boxes enter 413 and 531 which is the ideal size for your image. Then click and drag the white box in the Optimized image so that it captures the face.
3. Click apply changes.
Finalizing and Downloading your Photo
1. The file size should now be less than 1000KB.
2. If the size of the optimized image is still larger than 1000KB, reduce the Image quality slightly, apply the change and repeat until the image is less than 1000KB.
3. Once you are happy with your photograph, it can now be downloaded.
4. Click Download this Image.
5. Select a location to save the file and give it a name so you can identify it later.
6. We now have a photograph which is both sized correctly, so that only the face will be shown on your badge, and is small enough to be quickly uploaded to your account.
7. Finally, the photograph can be uploaded to your account in the usual manner.
When you pass a training course you qualify for BICSI CECs. Information on which courses award BICSI CECs and details on how to apply can be found on the 'Training Accreditation' page, under the 'About us' menu.
CECs awarded for training is controlled by BICSI, please visit their website for more information - bicsi.org
Replacements for lost, damaged or changes to certificates/badges can be requested by contacting either your CommScope channel manager or Cabling Science (we reserve the right to apply a discretionary charge of $40 per certificate and $50 per badge depending upon circumstances). State your name, company and company address to receive the replacement. We will verify your qualification and company’s Partner status and apply the Company transfer rules if applicable, then dispatch a replacement certificate/badge.
Your certification or recertification will expire either 1, 2, 3 or 4 years (depending on the course) from the date that you completed the course or subsequent re-certification courses. For specific expiration periods please see the Certification and Badging document on the Certification and Badging page under the 'About us' menu
Some courses are speciality courses where you will need to have completed corresponding qualifying courses in order for the course to show e.g. the SP7700 won’t be included unless the D&E (SP3321) is completed. Other courses are overwritten – a SP4400 will come off a badge if the SP4410 has been completed. Some courses just don’t go on a badge at all like the SP5602.
For a full list of these rules please go to the ‘Certification and Badging’ page under the About us menu.
You will also be able to check which of your completed courses will be visible on your badge in the 'Badges' section under your 'Training Center'
